The National Safety Science Campaign is a unique and multi-dimensional initiative by Underwriters Laboratories. It is a sustained commitment to improve the safety culture in India by harnessing the academic and creative potential of students and to encourage them to practice safe behaviors.

The campaign is an evolution of UL’s National Safety Science Quiz (NSSQ). Building on the success of the NSSQ, the comprehensive plan for NSSC involves broadening the outreach to include children from younger age groups along with teachers, principals and parents. The campaign also aimed to engage think tanks, government departments and policy makers in the education sector.

The ‘Empowering Safety Ambassadors’ documentary was an additional element of the program. This film brings the NSSC story to life and is aimed at encouraging students and youngsters to take the safety science movement forward by engaging in our programs and becoming leaders of the cause. It was aired on Discovery Science as well as Discovery Kids on 10th March 2019. The total reach of this broadcast was 19 million.
