The use of external facade systems in buildings increases day by day due to their significant role in enhancing the energy efficiency and appearance of buildings. Bureau of Indian Standards has developed standards and national building code for a safe built environment. However, fire safety incidents have caused the entire facade system to collapse during fires, inflicting damage to the structural system.

This event convenes a wealth of research and standards knowledge along with user perspective to demystify building facade safety. The panelists, representing sectors including research, standards, green building architecture and MEP, will present best practices on building safe facade systems. A well-orchestrated design can help to assure safe buildings along with a safe, secure, smart and sustainable India.
